External coils apply a controlled magnetic field on the flow metering tube. As the conductive fluid flows through the metering tube, the magnetic field generates a voltage at the sense electrodes that is proportional to the velocity of the fluid. Grounding electrodes are able to detect any noise or interference that may be present. Processing the signals from both the sense and the ground electrodes enables the Magmeter to cancel out noise and interference, resulting in a more reliable and highly accurate result across a greater range of flow. The processed signal is then converted into a volumetric flow rate by the flow meter.
