Crane Safety Systems
A leading Australian distributor of Level switches indicators
transmitters and controllers, automatic tank farm monitoring and gauges.
Semrad Pty Ltd is a leading Australian distributor of level switches and
transmitters, designed specifically for harsh industrial applications,
including caustic and chemical solutions. Our sensing technologies include
Ultrasonic, RF capacitance, Magnetic Float, Hydrostatic, Radar, Nuclear,
Vibration, Conductivity and Buoyancy. Our range of equipment is available in
general purpose, hazardous, non-contact and invasive configurations with a
variety of relay controller and installation accessories.
Crane
operators require proper training and skills, as one wrong move can injure
or kill hundreds of people working on the construction site. These days
employers are insisting on crane operators that are certified and have the
capability of handling a difficult situation. The number of work place
fatalities have definitely reduced but not completely disappeared.
Safety systems can include load monitors, anti-2-block systems, LMI's (load
moment indicators), wind speed indicators and boom angle indicator systems
for all cranes and other winch line applications. Other instrumentation to
ensure the safety of crane operation includes: Compression Load Cells,
Tension Load Cells; Compression Load Cells, Beam Load Cells, Load
Measuring Shackles, Load Measuring Pins, Load Monitoring Links, Pressure
Transducers, Pressure Transmitters, Linear Displacement Transducers, Digital
Indicators, Handheld Indicators, Amplifiers; Conditioners, and Radio
Telemetry.
Crane Safety Tips
Before using a crane for any work, it should be thoroughly checked by a
competent individual for any deficiencies to ensure that it is in a proper
working condition. If there are any deficiencies, no matter how small they
seem, they should be repaired or replaced before using the crane. It should
be ensured that all the machinery should be checked annually even if they
are not showing any problems. One should ensure that the crane is being
operated by a skilled and certified technician, rather than someone who
claims to be able to do it.
There are many manuals and videos available in for purchase as well as
online that you can use to learn more about crane and workplace safety.
There are even equipment specific guides. For instance, if you are looking
only for safety uses of a specific kind of crane, then you will get those
also.
With leading edge performance and industrial
reliability, Semrad has many applications proven in 1000's of working
installations worldwide.

It is working well in improving crane equipment and raising safety standards.
The CraneSafe system is still to be recognised in all states but Boom Logistics adopted a policy to embrace the CraneSafe Inspection system in all states. The programme is based on a network of independently accredited CraneSafe inspectors who inspect and report on the company's equipment.

EV Alert
http://www.evalert.com.au/
EV Alert was developed in the early 80's as a device to warn road users of an approaching emergency vehicle. Other applications led to rail, mining and warehousing installations. During 2001 research and development commenced for the collision avoidance system (EVCAD) following a request from New Zealand Forestry to reduce head-on situations with logging trucks on forest tracks.
Conventional 'sight and sound' are no longer reliable enough to prevent accidents. There are simply too many audible and visual barriers in the workplace and on the roads. Industrial premises, mining, agriculture, forestry and other workplaces have noise, blind corners, doorways, crops or vegetation blocking line of sight or forming barriers to the identification of approaching vehicles, machinery or other hazards.

Extensive experience in all facets of crane operations allows us to offer a consulting service which includes inspections for individual site or workcover approvals, valuations and expert opinions in legal matters.
Independent, competent persons, approved by the Committee (not CraneSafe) will carry out annual inspections and issue the certificates. While the program is voluntary, crane owners and users in NSW have a duty of care under the NSW OH&S Act 2000 to ensure that the mobile cranes are in a safe condition. Part of that duty of care requires that mobile cranes with a capacity greater than 10T be registered annually with WorkCover NSW. As part of the registration process, the person in control/ owner of the crane must make a statement that the crane has been maintained and is safe to operate.

Crane Safety
http://www.sydneycranehire.com.au/
you are a crane operator, then you should know that operating a crane requires a lot of training and skill and one wrong move can injure or even kill hundreds of people working on the construction site. Hence, now days employers are insisting on crane operators that are certified and have the capability of handling a difficult situation. The number of work place fatalities have definitely reduced but not completely disappeared.
Before using a crane for any work, it should be thoroughly checked by a competent individual for any deficiencies to ensure that it is in a proper working condition. If they come across any deficiencies, no matter how small they seem, they should be repaired or if any part is rendered useless, they should be replaced before using the crane. It should be ensured that all the machinery should be checked annually even if they are not giving any problem of any kind. It is always better to be safe than sorry, isn't it? One should ensure that the crane is being operated by a skilled technician and who is also certified rather than someone who only claims that he knows the job well.
